Starr Davis

Starr Davis is a talented writer and a dedicated mother, who has been featured in various literary platforms like The Kenyon Review, Academy of American Poets Poem-a-Day, the Rumpus, and Catapult. She has been recognized as a fellow at The Luminary, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and PEN America. Starr has also served as the creative nonfiction editor for TriQuarterly and as a columnist for Mama's Writing at Raising Mothers. She holds an MFA in creative writing from the City College of New York and a BA in journalism and creative writing from the University of Akron. Starr's personal-political report has earned her positive feedback and placed her reviews in Longreads 'Top 5 Longreads of the Week.' Her captivating storytelling has been covered on podcasts such as What You Didn't Expect in Fertility, Pregnancy & Birth: Real Stories & Expert Insights, and Truth to Power. As a survivor, Starr has performed and worked with literary communities. Starr is based out of Houston, Texas, where she actively advocates for justice and volunteers with organizations that empower women.
