Writing for the Kindle
While I'm on the subject of reading and writing on screen (ok, I guess I always am), this line from Adam Langer, author of The Thieves of Manhattan, in the Wall Street Journal is interesting:
I kind of wanted to write a book that would read well on a Kindle. Not long, rambling, contemplative chapters but very focused. I’m being slightly facetious when I say that. But I wanted something to capture attention, be fast, move like a fast-paced rock and roll album or a really fun 85-minute film.
I still don't buy the argument that reading an e-book is a different experience, but assuming it is, does a writer need to tailor his work for the format?
