E-book readers prefer warm thighs

A Forrester survey released this week says that plain 'ol laptops edged out Kindles as the most popular way to read an e-book, 35 to 32 percent. iPhones came in third (15 percent), followed by an unfortunately named Sony e-reader, netbooks, the Nook, the iPad, and reading over someone's shoulder on the train.

Since that survey focuses on the hardware readers use, I'd like to see a similar study on software. I'm guessing the combined usage of the Kindle plus it's componet apps on the iPhones, iPads, and laptops beat any other application by miles. In terms of influence, that's a far more telling metric, as it's tied specifically to the sales of books (the razors) not gadgets (the blades).
