Joan Frank (www.joanfrank.org) is the author of five books of fiction and a book of collected essays called Because You Have To: A Writing Life. Joan's work has won many grants, fellowships, and awards, including the Richard Sullivan Prize, Dana Portfolio Award, and ForeWord Reviews Book of the Year Award. She lives in Northern California.
