Fajer Alexander Khansa was raised in Lattakia, Syria and lived in Tokyo, Japan. He moved to the U.S. in 2005, where he completed his studies at USC. His writing has appeared in Tin House, The Normal School, Glass Mountain Review, EWR Short Stories, The Maine Review and Memoir Magazine.
